Show Your Athlete Profile in Search Engines
Choose whether Google and other search engines can list your Hajime athlete profile. It's off by default, and only adult athletes can turn it on.
Applies to: Adult athletes
Your athlete profile page is public on Hajime, but search engines are asked to skip it. If you want people to find you on Google by searching your name, you can turn that on yourself, and turn it off again at any time.
Turn it on or off
- Open your profile and click Edit Profile.
- Scroll to the Privacy section.
- Tick Let search engines show my profile, or untick it to opt out.
- Click Save Privacy Settings.

The setting is off for every athlete until they choose otherwise.
What search engines can see
Search engines see the same public page anyone else sees. Hajime describes your profile to them with your name, your academy and your disciplines: that's the short text that shows up under your name in search results and in link previews. Your birth date, weight and location are never part of that description.
Anything else visible on your public page can be read by search engines too. The other settings in the Privacy section decide what that is:
- Hide my competition statistics from public view keeps your statistics off the public page.
- Results visibility set to Private keeps your past matches off it, and your upcoming matches with them.
- Upcoming schedule visibility set to Private hides only the matches you're registered for.
If you share your verified competition record, this same setting decides whether search engines can list it.
Check these before you opt in if you want search engines to find your name but not your record.
Who can turn it on
Only you, and only once you're an adult. The toggle never appears on a minor's profile. A parent or guardian managing a child's profile can't see it or turn it on for them.
When a guardian hands a managed account over to the athlete at the age of majority, this setting starts switched off. The athlete decides for themselves once they have their own login.
A profile also leaves search engines when its account is deleted or suspended.
How quickly changes take effect
Your profile page updates as soon as you save. When you switch the setting off, the page immediately tells search engines not to show it.
Hajime also lists opted-in profiles in the sitemap it gives to search engines. That list refreshes every six hours, so a change can take up to six hours to show there.
Search engines then work on their own schedule. Google can take days or weeks to drop a page from its results after you opt out, and Hajime can't speed that up.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my profile private when the setting is off? No. Anyone with the link can still open your profile page, as before. The setting only controls whether search engines are asked to list it.
Can my academy or an organizer turn it on for me? No. Only you can change it, from your own profile.
Does this affect the results pages of events I fought in? No. Event results follow the event's own rules, and this setting doesn't change them.
