Change Your Registration After Signing Up
Add a speciality, drop one or choose a missing category yourself while registration is open. See what happens to confirmation, your fee and the waitlist.
Applies to: Athletes, guardians and coaches
While registration is open you can change your entries without asking the organizer. You can add a speciality, drop one, and choose a category when yours disappeared. Guardians can do the same for a child, and the coach of the academy you registered for can do it for you.
Add a speciality
- Open the event's registration page. Because you are already registered, it shows Add a speciality.
- Pick the speciality and its categories, the same way you did the first time.
- Read the fee note, then confirm.
The new speciality shows Pending confirmation until the organizer confirms it, like any first registration. If your registration was confirmed, it goes back to pending until then, so you cannot check in to a speciality nobody confirmed. You keep your place in the event.
If the speciality is full, you join its waitlist. You are not charged for a waitlisted speciality. The form tells you this before you confirm. If a spot opens and you move off the waitlist, the speciality is added to your fee then.
You cannot add a speciality while you are checked in. Ask the organizer instead.
What it does to your fee
The fee is recalculated. If you had already paid, the payment becomes partial and shows the balance due. The price you locked when you first registered applies to the new speciality. A fee the organizer set by hand for you does not change.
When online payment is available, Pay balance opens checkout and charges only what is left. At events where you pay at the venue, your registrations page shows the new amount, and you settle it at the desk.
Where the event requires payment before confirmation (online, or at the desk when you pay at the venue), the organizer can confirm the new speciality, but your registration stays pending until you pay the balance. Once it is paid and the organizer has confirmed the new speciality, the registration is confirmed by itself.
Drop a speciality
On your registrations page, use the withdraw button next to the speciality. Your other specialities stay. On your only active speciality the per-speciality button is not shown: withdraw from the whole event instead.
If you paid, a refund follows the event's refund policy. Nothing is refunded automatically.
Dropped a speciality by mistake? While registration is open you can add it again. You rejoin at the back of the waitlist if there is one.
Choose a category for "Needs a category"
When an organizer edits a speciality and your category no longer exists, the row shows Needs a category. Choose Choose your category, pick from the options that fit your gender and your age on the event date, and save. Categories that still exist are shown as they are and cannot be changed here. You keep your place and your status, including the waitlist.
If no option fits you, the window says so. Contact the organizer, or drop that speciality.
You cannot choose a category if you are already checked in, if you already hold that combination, or if your division is already being competed. Ask the organizer in those cases.
After registration closes
Self-service stops. Your registrations page tells you to ask the organizer for any change. Withdrawing from the whole event still works until you check in.
Guardians and coaches
An active guardian can make these changes from the child's registrations in the family area. A coach can drop a speciality or choose a category from the team event page, as long as the athlete is still a member of the academy. A coach cannot remove an athlete's only speciality: only the athlete or their guardian can withdraw from the event.
Nobody is notified when you add a speciality or choose a category. The organizer sees the new pending row on the roster.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change my weight class or belt? Not yourself. Only a missing category can be chosen. For anything else, ask the organizer.
Will I lose my spot when I add a speciality? No. Your registration reads pending until the new speciality is confirmed.
