Hajime can be installed as an app on your phone or computer so you can open it in one tap on competition day, with setup steps for iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and desktop Chrome or Edge.
Installing Hajime on Your Phone
Applies to: Athletes
Installing Hajime adds it to your home screen like a regular app, so you can open it in one tap on competition day instead of typing the address or hunting through your browser tabs. The steps below cover iOS, Android, and desktop.
Before You Start
The steps depend on your device and browser. Find your platform below.
Important: On iOS, installing only works from Safari. If you are using Chrome or Firefox on an iPhone or iPad, open the page in Safari first: Hajime cannot be installed from any other browser on iOS.
iOS (iPhone or iPad) with Safari
- Open Hajime in Safari.
- Tap the Share icon in the toolbar (the square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.

Hajime now appears on your home screen as its own icon, and opens without the Safari address bar.
iOS (iPhone or iPad) with Chrome or Firefox
Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot install web apps. This is a restriction of iOS itself, not something Hajime controls. If you see a banner telling you to open the page in Safari, that is why.
- Copy the page address, or tap the browser menu and choose Open in Safari if your browser offers it.
- In Safari, follow the steps above to add Hajime to your home screen.
Android with Chrome
- Open Hajime in Chrome.
- Look for the install banner near the top of the page and tap Install. If you dismissed the banner already, tap the three-dot menu in Chrome and choose Install app (or Add to Home screen) instead.
- Confirm the install prompt.

Hajime now appears on your home screen and app drawer as its own app.
Desktop (Chrome or Edge)
- Open Hajime in Chrome or Edge.
- Look for the install icon in the address bar (it looks like a small monitor with a down arrow), or tap the install banner near the top of the page.
- Click Install and confirm.
Hajime now opens in its own window from your desktop, taskbar, or dock, without the surrounding browser tabs and address bar.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install the app to use Hajime? No. Everything works in your regular browser too. Installing just makes it faster to get back to your event.
Why can't I install from Chrome on my iPhone? Apple only allows installing web apps from Safari on iOS. Open the page in Safari and follow the Safari steps above.
I dismissed the install banner. Can I still install later? Yes. On Android and desktop, use your browser's menu (look for "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"). On iOS, use the Share icon in Safari at any time.
Does installing use more data or storage? No more than using the site normally in your browser. Installing does not download the whole app in advance.
