The Family Area and Adding Your Child
How a parent or guardian creates a profile for their child with Add my child, and what the My athletes area lets you do for each child.
Applies to: Parents and legal guardians with an adult Hajime account
If your child competes, you can manage everything for them from your own account. You create a profile for the child, and from then on you register them, pay, give consent and read their notifications. The child doesn't need an email address or a login.
Add Your Child
- Make sure your own first and last name are set in your account settings. Your name is recorded as the child's guardian, and the form stays disabled until it is there.
- Open My athletes and choose Add my child.
- Enter the child's first name, last name and birth date, and pick your relationship: parent, legal guardian or other.
- Choose Add child.
You land on the child's page right away. Only an adult account can add a child. A minor who wants to compete uses their own account and names a guardian, or asks a parent to add them.
One account can manage up to eight children. At that point the page says you have reached the maximum and points you to support if you need more.
The child's birth date can't be edited after you save it, so check it before you submit. If it is wrong, contact support.
What You See on My Athletes
My athletes lists every child you manage, with their age. A child added by an academy or an organizer shows up here too, once you are linked as their guardian. Each card opens the child's page.
The Child's Page
From a child's page you can open:
- Profile: name, disciplines and details, the same profile screen the child would use.
- Documents: medical and identity documents.
- Privacy: who can see the profile.
- Registrations: the child's events, with your actions available on each.
- Guardian consents: any consent waiting for you.
- Payments due: fees for the child's registrations.
- Find a competition: opens the list of competitions, to pick an event for your child.
- Fight history: past and upcoming matches.
Everything you do here is recorded as done by you on the child's behalf.
Registering Your Child
From the child's page choose Find a competition, or open any event while logged in. When the event is open for registration and accepts minors, its page shows a Register button for each child you manage, with the child's first name on it (a child who is already registered shows Manage instead). Use that button, not your own Register button: the registration, the payment and the badge all live under the child, not under your own athlete profile. Consent is given in the app, next to the full text. Registering an Underage Athlete covers the consent levels.
Academy Invitations
When an academy invites your child to join, the invitation shows on the child's page. You accept or decline for them.
If the Child Is Already Registered Somewhere
An academy may have created a profile for your child before you did. Adding your child creates a separate profile for you either way. The academy's managers are told that a probable match exists so they can follow up with you. Merging two profiles is done by support.
When Your Child Wants Their Own Login
You can hand the account over once your child is old enough to hold their own login.
