Who Can See Your Child's Name in Results
Public results show a minor as initials and club. Here is who sees the full name, how a guardian can widen that, and what happens after the athlete comes of age.
Applies to: Parents and legal guardians · Minor athletes
Results stay public, but a minor is not. Brackets, results, statistics, live screens and match history show a young athlete as initials and club, for example "M. R., Academy X". There is no photo and no link to a profile. Being logged in does not change that.
Who sees the full name
- The athlete and their guardian, when the guardian has a Hajime account linked to the child.
- The coaches of the athlete's academy.
- The organizers and staff of the event.
- Hajime administrators.
Organizers and staff also see full names on venue screens when they are logged in. Anyone else watching a screen sees initials and club.
Let other competitors see the name
As a linked guardian, you can widen the audience. Open the child's page in the family area, go to their profile and find Name in results. Under Who can see the full name you can choose:
- Initials and club only: the default.
- Logged-in athletes in the same bracket: the opponents the child can meet.
- All logged-in participants of the same event.
The public still sees initials and club. The athlete cannot widen this setting while a minor. If a guardianship is revoked, the setting returns to the default.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the age at the event matter?
Yes. Hajime uses the athlete's age on the day of the event. Results from events held while the athlete was a minor stay masked after the athlete reaches the age of majority in their country. An adult athlete can widen the setting for those results from their own profile.
Can I change the setting for past events?
The setting applies to all results from events held while your child was a minor, past and future. Changing it takes effect immediately.
Why is the country still visible?
The flag and country code stay visible next to the initials and club. The full name, photo and profile link do not.
I declared myself as guardian but have no account. Can I widen the setting?
No. Only a guardian with a Hajime account linked to the child, or the athlete once they are an adult, can change it. A guardian who is only declared, without a linked account, does not see the full name either. The link happens when you click the confirmation link from the email we send you, using an account with the same email address as the one declared (or creating that account from the confirmation page). If you created your account after confirming, log in with the declared email (confirmed) and Hajime will offer to link the child to your account on the My athletes page and on your dashboard: choose Accept. If your account uses a different email, ask the athlete or the organizer to send a new confirmation link for another registration and open it while using the declared email.
