Once an event is live, judges score matches from the live scoring panel on their assigned mat. Results feed straight back into the bracket: winners advance automatically, and you can watch progress across every mat from the event dashboard in real time.
The Normal Path: Live Scoring
This is the default path for the whole event. Most of the day should need no organizer intervention beyond keeping an eye on the schedule and the readiness warnings you cleared earlier.

The Fallback Path: Paper
If live scoring is unavailable on a mat, whether a device fails, connectivity drops, or a judge simply prefers paper for a stretch, you don't have to stop the mat. Hajime supports running that mat on paper and then entering results back in afterward:

Treat paper as the deliberate fallback it is. Reach for it when a mat needs it, and reconcile promptly so the bracket doesn't drift from what actually happened at the venue.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does switching a mat to paper affect other mats? No, paper mode is per-mat. Other mats keep running live scoring normally.
How quickly do I need to enter paper results back in? As soon as practical. Downstream schedules and standings for that speciality won't reflect the paper-run matches until they're entered back in.
Is there a way to avoid ever needing the paper fallback? Devices and connectivity fail sometimes, so paper mode stays available as a safety net. The readiness checklist and live scoring are designed to make that the rare case, not the common one.
