Affiliations are verified brand identities on Hajime: think "Gracie Barra", "Team Atos", or "Alliance". An affiliation represents the training brand that an academy belongs to, and it spans many academies across different organizations and regions.

Affiliations vs. Organizations

These are two distinct concepts on Hajime, and it's worth keeping them separate:

  • An organization is a body that runs events on Hajime: a federation, a sports promotion body, a committee, a circuit or similar. It has divisions, brackets, and rules. An academy can be linked to an organization to enter its events.
  • An affiliation is a training brand. It groups academies that share the same school identity, regardless of which organization they compete under.

An academy can compete under multiple organizations while belonging to one affiliation brand. The affiliation follows the brand, not the ruleset.

The Verified Badge

When an affiliation brand appears with a verified badge, it means a Hajime administrator has confirmed the identity of the brand's representative. Verification is a trust signal: it means you are looking at the real "Gracie Barra" page, not a lookalike.

Unverified brands can still exist on the platform while their verification is in progress. The absence of a badge doesn't mean a brand is illegitimate; it simply hasn't been reviewed yet.

How Athlete Affiliation Works

On Hajime, your affiliation is never something you type yourself. It's derived automatically from the academy you competed for:

  1. You register for an event representing an academy.
  2. That academy belongs to an approved affiliation brand.
  3. Your results and athlete profile show that brand automatically.

This approach is intentional. Self-typed affiliation fields, common on other platforms, are easy to falsify. On Hajime, the link between athlete and brand is provable because it runs through real, verified competition results.

Note: If your academy has not yet joined a brand, your results will show your academy name but no affiliation brand. Your academy simply hasn't requested membership yet.

Where to Find Affiliations

Browse all affiliation brands at /affiliations. Each public brand page shows the logo, cover image, description, website link, and a summary of medals earned by member academies in Hajime events.
