Performance Format
How the Performance format works in Hajime for judged, non-combat specialities like kata and forms, where athletes are ranked by panel score instead of a win/loss bracket.
Applies to: Event organisers · Bracket managers
Performance is for judged, non-combat specialities: kata, forms, technique demonstrations, breaking, or any category where athletes are scored individually by a panel rather than competing head-to-head. Instead of a win/loss bracket, athletes are ranked by score.
How scoring works
Each performance is evaluated by a judging panel against a set of criteria (for example: technique, power, timing, and presentation), and the panel's scores are combined into a single result per performance. Hajime ships sensible judging and scoring defaults for kata-style and demo-team-style events out of the box, so most competitions don't require any manual judging configuration.
Rounds
Performance specialities can run over multiple rounds. A preliminary round followed by a final round for the top-scoring athletes is a common example. Set Performance Rounds to the number of rounds your format needs.
