Where Fees Live
Fees are managed on their own screen, separate from the main event form. Open it from your event's fees tab. From there you can add fee rules. A rule can apply to the whole event or be scoped to a specific speciality or category, so kids' divisions, for example, can be priced differently from adult divisions.

Reusing a Fee Template
If your academy or organization already maintains a fee template (see Fee Templates for Academies or Fee Templates for Organizations), apply it from the event fees screen instead of re-entering every rule by hand. You can still add event-specific overrides on top of an applied template.
Free Events
If your event has no fees at all, you don't need to add any rules. An event with zero fee rules is treated as free, and athletes register without a payment step.
Payment Mode
Every organizer can set fees. The Payment mode setting decides how athletes pay:
- No fee: athletes register without a payment step.
- Pay at the venue: athletes see the amount due and pay in cash at the venue.
- Online or at the venue: athletes can pay online or at the venue. Available once online payment is enabled.
- Online, required: athletes must pay online before their registration is confirmed. Available once online payment is enabled.
With Pay at the venue, an athlete registers online and settles in cash at the venue. This is what makes walk-up registration and roster-level cash settlement possible on event morning, covered in Event Morning. The desk records the payment at check-in. With No fee, nothing is recorded and no payment is asked. Fee rules you set while the mode is No fee are a draft: athletes do not see the price until you choose another payment mode.
Online payment, with its deposit and payout options, is enabled by Hajime support on request. Until then, athletes who open the payment page see "Pay at the venue" with the amount, and the desk records the cash.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can different categories within the same speciality have different fees? Yes. Scope a fee rule to a specific category rather than the whole speciality or event.
Do I need to configure fees before the event can go live? No, fee configuration isn't part of the readiness checklist. An event with no fees at all is simply free to register for.
Where do refunds happen? Refunds aren't covered by this guide; ask your organizer contact or contact support if you need to process one manually.
